This couple's story began at Under the Big Sky (a three day music festival in Whitefish, MT). Although, the two did not know each other at the time, they were going for the same reasons; to see friends, enjoy some live music, and take in the beautiful MT summer. The couple's first encounter was during the first group breakfast of the weekend!

After departing Under the Big Sky, Jake was so taken with Emma that he bought a plane ticket within 24 hours of returning to Bozeman, Emma was living in Colorado at the time. Instead of waiting a month until he could fly out, the crazy couple decided to meet halfway for a camping trip to Pinedale, WY.

Jake asked Emma to be his girlfriend over Mo'Bowls at the Bozeman Farmers market.

After 3 months of distance, and a lot of travelling done by both parties, Emma decided to take a travel contract in Bozeman, MT. Where Jake was finishing up his degree at MSU.

The couple's 6 months together in Bozeman consisted of many ski trips to bear canyon, late nights downtown, getting Emma certified at the climbing gym, and a winter adventure to Yellowstone!

As a new military officer, Jake was sent to Fairchild Air Force Base near Spokane, WA for his first assignment. The couple decided to stay long distance. Emma went back to Colorado to continue working as a nurse in Granby, CO and living with her parents.

The couple saw each other many times throughout the summer and of course made it back to the Under the Big Sky Festival in Montana!

Long distance continued through the winter as Jake was sent to a four month training in Wichita Falls, TX. Emma's winter consisted of working, still living with her parents, skiing, and flying to TX nearly every other week.

TOGETHER AT LAST!!! Upon Jake finishing his training in TX, Emma made the official move up to Spokane!

One spring weekend, Jake surprised Emma with an impromptu trip to Canada to do some spring skiing. Shortly after crossing the border into Canada, the couple went on a little hike and Jake had found a diamond ring in his pocket! The couple spent the rest of the weekend on cloud 9 as they were newly engaged!

The couple has made the most out of being back together in the same city and being engaged. From exploring the PNW, trips to go see family, hectic Costco runs, to planning a wedding, they can't wait to officially do life together!
